I recently had a totally negative experience on a floor mat purchase from Classic Ind. I always figure that when you get lemons make lemonade. So here is the lemonade; I've been working with a vendor to get a custom designed mat. They have a couple prototypes and I will post some pictures very soon for approval. Stay tuned......
I'm trying to steer them away from the 'screaming chicken' style bird. Anybody have a good close up of the Bird on the 68 horn cap or any other good pictures of the Aztek style first gen Bird? I sent them a close up of the Bird glass etching.
I find the floor mats available through California Car Cover to be excellent. But I don't know if they have patterns to go back that far for FGF's.
2012 Mustang Boss 302 #1918, Competition Orange. FGF replacement 2006 Mustang V6 Pony, Vista Blue. Factory ordered. 2019 BMW X3 (Titled to the wife, but I'm always driving it for her. So I'm claiming it) Old projects, gone but not forgotten: 1967 FB 400, original CA car. After 22 years of work, trashed by the guy who was supposed to paint it. I had to sell it. 1980 Turbo Trans Am 1970 Mustang fastback, 351C 4Bbl, auto 1988 Mustang GT, 5 speed 1983 F-150 4x4, built 302 1994 Chevy K2500 HD 4x4, 454 TBI
I couldn't find it.... I sent close-ups of the glove box emblem, door panel emblems, and the etching from the bird glass. The artist is working on it. I'm sure any extra input will help. These guys are called 'Floormats That Sing'. They made up two designs and they looked too much like second generation screamin chickens so they are giving it another try.
sweet. How long until they can start producing them? Any idea on price yet? Would it be less if you promised them to buy a certain number of units? Will they do backseats also or will the backs just be plain? Carpet or rubber?
I would prefer the left one, IF I was buying any, BUT I already have the rubber non colored black ones....so I wont be buying any (for a few years anyway)....just putting my 0.02 worth of architectural 'look' to the test ...
I don't think it's going to take very long at all. The price will be $49.95 for a pair. Add $10 if you want the plain back ones. They are carpet with a non skid rubber backing.
Here's the description;
These set of 2 Matching Front Seat Floor Mats are constructed of quality, durable polyester loop Carpet, with rubber non-slip backing. EZ care, simply wash with mild detergent, hose and air dry. The colors are vibrant and UV resistant.
Image is sublimated under heat and pressure, then cools beneath the surface of the Carpet producing an outstanding looking an fully durable image.
These One Size fits all Mats are at the widest point 17", at the most narrow point 14”wide and 27” Tall.
Here's one of their eBay auctions so you can check them out. Since these are custom they didn't give the discount like on the auction. I think $49.95 is a good price for a custom mat. They are telling me that the back ones have the same graphic. I like it big. That way you can see it way down there on the floor. They are telling me it will take 10 days to make them from when they get ordered.
Well I'm in for a set. I've been looking fo a set since last summer and these look good to me. I wonder if they will take an order now? They'd be nice to have before HAN(two weeks to go)?
I'm assuming that they will add this design to their eBay store soon. Maybe later today. I just checked and they have not added them yet. Then it will take 10 days from when you order to receive them.
The custom mats are ready for your order now. Make sure you pick the one you want between the one with a background and without. They also can make license plates, T-shirts, hitch covers with the same Aztek bird 1st gen Firebird logo. LINK: http://www.imagesthatsing.com/CustomFirebirdFloorMatsII.htm
I didnt see where it mentioned, but I guess black is the only color available? If anyone orders a set would like to see pics of the real thing. "Firebird" script added would be extra sharp.
Those do look nice!!! I'm sure it says somewhere earlier in this thread, but are they embroidered?

I think they could do it but you would have to ask them. Here's the link to there web site. Scroll way down and there a link to ask questions. LINK; http://www.imagesthatsing.com/
Hey Jim, I don't know how I missed this thread. For future reference I have a .pdf file of the 'bird in stencil and color. E-mail me and I’ll toss back a reply with file. The mats look great! IMO the ‘bird needs to be just a sukoshi smaller with the script. To each his own I guess.
That's what I used, your PDF. Hacked in and borrowed it. The size of the 'Bird was determined by the designer. You can get whatever wording you want for a small extra charge.
I'm happy with them. The red outline around the Bird fragmented just a little bit. It probably had something to do with the transfer from the PDF to the graphics. Other than that the quality seems good. Very competitively priced.
Ahhh. You got screwed by Classic Ind too on the one size fits all floor mats advertised as Firebird mats. I'm still fuming about that one. It's $59.95 for all 4.
