I'm still trying to learn things about my "new" 68. I can not get the passenger side exterior mirror positioned so that I can see cars coming up on the inside lane. The closest I can get it positioned shows the car when it it almost right next to me. I've tried to turn it ever way I can, and I can not get it to where it is functional. Does anyone have any solutions or is that just the way it is. I'm pretty sure they are stock mirrors.
fgf's did not come with passenger side mirrors, so location mounted is likely the issue. If you can't swivel the mirror to a useful location, you are just stuck with the condition unless you are willing to re-mount the mirror (sounds like further forward in your case) to a better location. My '67 had that issue but mine was oposite. As cars got closer to me, they could not be seen. (was mounted too far back).
I simply sold the car and bought another one without the passenger mirror.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. can`t you add a convex glass over the esisitng , to show more? in my old ,little mini cooper I used a wide convex miror over my inside rear view mirror...I could see from door pillar to door pillar in it = almost 180 degrees

I think that would give me a headache. Did that work OK Bjorn?
Aside from the non-stock issue, may be a solution...

They do not put RH mirror's on fgf's at the FACTORY but, if you went to the DEALER in 69' you could get a Pontiac RH mirror installed. Part no. 1#988596
