Can someone post a pic of an original 4bbl throttle cable bracket and the part number if possible? Is an auto bracket the same as a manual? 2bbl/4bbl(bracket), different or the same?
I can send you more shots of a bracket on the car with everything in place... not sure if they will be good enough for you to see what you need to see, but these are original.
Thanks for the pics. Brett the two pics have different brackets in them. The top one is like the one Vikki has. The bottom one is like the extra one I have. Both are for 4bbls I assume. One has the cable clamp bolt on top, the other on the bottom. Is it the same bracket for two bbbl as four? Isn't the cable for the 4bbl supposed to have more travel than the 2bbl?
The 2 bbl bracket has indeed a shorter cable travel (I've tried it on and it didn't work out). This bracket should be for a 1968 2bbl carb, according to the part number, 9792241.
Interesting. Snow Cruiser's 2bbl bracket doesn't have a provision for the auto kickdown cable. I have one that looks like it with the k/d hole, PN#9795715. Brett's second pic also has a PN# on it. You can see it just below the cable.
Jim is right, the top picture is a 69, and the second is a 68. I believe these are both original to the cars they were on. (I know the 69 or top picture was, that chaine is for the Cruise Control)
4bbl, right? Manual(no k/d). Not a 69 bracket I take it(bolt on top). The two that RAMJohn show have bolt on bottom but he says they are 68s. It seems like I see more stock two bbl/350s than 4bbls out here.
The throttle bracket is the same for 350-4bbl/TH350 and 400-4bbl/TH400 Firebirds. The TH350 used a cable kickdown, the TH400 used an electrical switch shown in my photo, which mounts to a separate, curved bracket. The kickdown cable used the square hole in the throttle bracket for an attachment point.

Hi, new here and new to restoring. Looking to find out where the ignition coil is mounted on a 67 firebird 400 car has solid accelerator link to carb. Thanks
I know this is an old thread but I would also like to know where to get that kickdown cable. The one my transmission guy installed won't snap into the square hole in my bracket. It's the same as that first picture. Thanks
