I've seen them anywhere from $100 to $200 depending on how bad they are.
They were going for under $50 about five or six years ago. (back when shakers were $100 a set)

$1200 to recast...( http://www.qualityrestorations.com/). this doesn't include purchase of a really busted example. Good news is no matter how bad it can be recast. I wanted to buy one after my 68 was rebuilt but ran into some technical difficulties with new build and had to spend another couple grand. :-) By the time I buy one they will be $5000

I have spoken to Dennis and have a wheel all packed up and ready to go. Problem is I need two of them. I did purchase a turquoise one that I am having rebuilt and repainted. We'll see how it turns out.

The wheel I saw on ebay sold sometime after posting the information. It was pretty bad. I fixed mine but that one was beyond me fixing and would need a complete new casting. wovenweb - if you do get one done by Dennis let us know how he does. There is a Guy in Canada that does real good work but does not remolds it like Dennis. He is only a little cheaper too. His website is http://www.stwheelz.com/ just to have it here as a reference. His name is : Doug Lepak The Steering Wheel Guy Here is a guy on the east cost that is suppose to be good too. http://www.garyssteeringwheel.com/Gary's Steering Wheel Restoration 2677 Ritner Highway Carlisle, PA 17015

That' s about as bad a condition that the horn button can be in. In particular, the foil inlay has lost it's color for some reason, really hurting it's value.

These things are like hens teeth. I need to either find a good representation (in black) and fix mine which has some big gaps in the soy plastic around the column, or buy and after-market and get a re-core on the one I have (I saw $950 not $1,200). would prefer to fix the existing. Anyone got a usable core?
Thanks,
Kevin-

I thought mine was in great shape when I first bought the car but closer inspection soon after revealed more deterioration than I thought. Mine was in pretty bad shape. I had it restored by Doug Lepak over 7 years ago. It came back looking brand new and still does today. Here's the link to a post I made before I sent it and then got it back from Doug: https://firstgenfirebird.org/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=74221&page=1

I contacted Doug April 2013 about my Deluxe steering wheel. I saw some work that he did and it looked great. His cost has gone up quite a bit in 7 years. It is now 1000 US plus shipping. Here is a deluxe wheel he did and the process. http://www.stwheelz.com/gallery.htmlHere is his info.
