I want to order a complete front headlight wiring harness. from what I found, there are two kinds to choose from...one with front cornering lamps and one without.
my question is, when they say cornering lamp, are they referring to just the general left and right lower lamps below the headlights or are they referring to lamps that actually blink when making turns? all firebirds have these cornering lamps so im guessing they are referring to ones that actually blink, correct??
its been a very long time since I had my car running but I don't recall if the corner lamps blinked when I signaled to make a turn. so if they don't blink does that mean I need the harness that says "without the cornering lamps"??
It is a single socket. but I cant remember if they were blinkers.
when they say corning lamps I wonder if they mean blinkers. I havnt talked to them yet to clarify however.
I guess before I talk to them I should know if mine blinked or not. im thinking they would have had to be blinkers because isn't that a state law requirement? either way, are there any firebird owners that can tell me if most, if not all, were blinking lamps and why would the wiring harness company provide the option of having cornering lamps or not...just a bit confusing.
Early 68 builds prior oct - nov 67 had two bulbs in the front park light. One was a turn signal and running light and the other was a solid running light called a corner light. Later they did away with the extra solid corner light because the turn signal / park light handled the corner light requirements that was made that year.
Mine has the two bulbs and when I replace the harness I got the ones with corner lights.
Mine has a two lamp housing on one side and a single lamp housing on the other. Most likely one got smashed and was replaced with the single bulb unit. The harness was a two bulb per side.
