Subject: Soiled or Stained Seat Belts.

Short answer: Clean soiled or stained seat belts only with a mild soap and lukewarm water solution — volatile cleaners and redyeing both weaken the belt fiber and must not be used.

Soiled or stained seat belts should only be cleaned with a mild soap and lukewarm water solution. Use of volatile cleaners could remove color and weaken the fiber.

Note: Under no circumstances should seat belts be redyed, as this could also weaken the fiber.
