Kick Panel Speaker Replacement
Short answer: There’s little room to upgrade in the factory kick-panel location — the cowl brace gets in the way of any magnet larger than the original Delco, and no aftermarket speaker matches that magnet shape.
Workarounds: reshape the cowl brace with a hammer to fit a 4×6 (one member used ~$40 Jensens), or fabricate a spacer to fill the gap between the grille and kick panel so a larger speaker fits with the brace intact.
