Seat Belt Cleaning
Short answer: Soak and scrub the belts, then sun-dry them:
- Remove the belts from the car.
- Fill a bucket with scalding-hot water and add quality car-wash soap.
- Soak the belts (don’t let the water go cold).
- Scrub each belt end to end, front and back, with a soft brush — change the water once or twice if dirty.
- Rinse with a hose and lay flat in the sun to dry — this is key: air-drying out of the sun leaves them stiff, while sun-drying makes them soft and brings the color back.
- Blow water out of the buckle mechanism with compressed air (or a vacuum run in reverse).
