Throttle Cable Bracket Codes for 1969
Short answer: An “F2”-stamped bracket is for a 2-bbl. The correct 1969 Firebird 4-bbl throttle-cable bracket is 9797415, stamped “F4.” There’s no difference between automatic and manual.
Around May 1968, a new intake manifold and bracket came into production and were used on late-1968 cars and all 1969 4-bbl models: intake 9794234, bracket 9797415 (“F4”). This superseded the earlier 1968 (1st type, through May 1968) intake 9790140, bracket 9792242.
