If it were my engine I'd go with the 96s because they are documented as very good flowing heads. 7K3 also have large valve, but I am not sure if any emissions mods were done to them. 7K3 came on a 250 HP 400. 96 came on a 300 HP 400. Both are "net" numbers. Either way, choose a fuel grade and adjust your build to suit.
