Spider, you've got the wrong oil filter bracket. The first e-bay pic that 68firebird400 posted of the bracket is the wrong bracket, it's the one you have. The GTO one tilts inward towards the motor and is wrong and won't work with LB's. The second e-bay pic is the right one - the firebird bracket that points the filter straight down (then angles towards the firewall with the adaptor). Believe me on this one.
I had a closer look at my adapter and you're exactly right. Mine tilts in towards the housing (45 degrees?). I'm sure the one I need is the 90 degree adapter (2nd Ebay). I'll pick one of these up and post the results. Thanks for all the help everyone! Trevor
