I am considering an electronic ignition conversion for my stock '68 bird distributor. But a few questions.
I also have an HEI that I am unsure if I will have adequate firewall clearance. This is to be checked.
If you don't have clearance for the HEI then you have big problems that need to be addressed ASAP. They fit in all 1st gens that are not severely out of alignment.
I have not even tried to fit one in there. Other than looking tight, I haven't given it too much thought.
Original appearance is a non issue. Not trying to fool anyone. Since the car should have the subframe bushings done, I am sure it'll fit after that if there is supposed to be enough clearance.
