In the industry that I work in, one dept used to be union (our company came to an agreement with the union) and my dept has never been union. The guys that used to be union don't get paid holidays, PTO, vacation, and other benefits. I think that sucks for them. All of our competition still has unions and I have a few friends in them. They say that they really don't do anything for them other than balance out everyones pay. I have also done a lot of work a facilities that are union; GM Arlington plant, Delta Airlines,....; and I have witnessed some of them take advantage of all day long breaks while others were working hard. I have never been union but from what I've seen and heard I don't want to be, okay maybe for the l..o..n..g breaks! Just my opinion, never done it so I don't know the full story.
