With the new wheels on I only have about 1/4" thread engagemnet on the nut (they use standard acorn nuts.) Obviously not enough! I'd like to have about 3/4"
After searching several auto parts suppliers, no one seems to make a stud long enough that has the right diameter knurl to fit the axle flanges. Looks like my only options are different wheels (AGAIN) or drill the axles to take a larger knurl stud. (This is for the rear only, I found a suitable replacement for the front discs.)
I just looked at your wheels at the link and they are exactly like I mentioned. They take a special lug nut made just for them. Can you see it in the picture with a washer on it? Not a regular acorn nut at all. Lugs nuts for Cragars are on eBay for about $25 a set new.
