Not FGF related but really curious what average life one should get out of a clutch. My mom (60+) bought a '06 Honda CR-V NEW with 4cyl and manual trans. She "always liked manual" and specifically wanted manual. Just racked up 39,xxx miles and all of a sudden while driving it wouldn't shift gears. Took it to Honda and $1600 for new clutch. She got the extended warranty too when she bought the CRV. They say it wore out and is NOT covered at all under warranty. I got the old parts and the disc is about worn down to the rivets and the other half (sorry I'm auto) the disc is cracked in 4 places and looks warped. We've contaced Honda Customer Service and she is complaining to maybe help get reimbursed, but I'm thinking that's WAY to early for this to all of a sudden "go out" It was working perfect up til that moment. Any thoughts? Or is this just normal?!?!? She got a Honda for reliability and even got the extended warranty for extra protection in case.
