The fuel prices don't seem to impact the classic market much, since the majority only see a few thousand miles a year. Gas prices at 4.00 a gallon costs 16 cents more per mile than at 2.50 at 11 mpg. The enjoyment of that mile is worth it at any price. I buy 110, which is even more expensive. I put more miles on my car this summer than I did since the first year I had it.
Sport Jaguar, Porsche, BMW and exotic prices don't fluctuate much either. And good fuel economy is not on their list of primary features.
