firebirdcrzy: Remove the gaskets. Of course, you have to take the plastic peices off. You don't have to pull the nose peice to remove them. Don't qoute me on this, but if I recall corectly, you must pull the bumper and the headlight buckets. And I think that you can get the outar corner by snatching the gasket back.
After you get them off, gently scrape whatever paint you can with a sharp exacto knife or razor blade. (This is something that takes quite a lot of time. When I did it, replacement parts weren't available. Also, I'd stay away from thinner as a cleaner.)
If the paint is impregnated into the rubber, or you cannot scrape it, you can wet sand it out with #220. Any damage you do while scraping, you can sand it out too. I don't remember what grit wet paper I used for the final sanding, but I think it was #600. Then again, I may have used #1000 or #1200
You can also repair the rubber too with black silicone. Clean the dog crap out out of the part with detergent. Next, make a dam as a holder for the area. Squirt some silicone into the area, making sure that you don't overlap onto the undamaged rubber. Take some hock (hock works wonders on silicone) on your finger and mold the silicone to the correct shape..
Tip: make your mold/dam so that it protrudes past the back line of the gasket. That way, you can cut the edge flush with the gasket. You cannot overlap the silicone (well, I guess you can overlap it if you're not worried about cosmetic appearnce) onto the undamged area. Otherwise, it will have a reapaired appearnce.
You cannot trim/shape the silicone without it being an obvious repair, so you may have to redo it a few times. If so, remove and try again before the silicone sets up.
