HI i just swapped out my powerglide for a th400 today and bought a new B&M shifter and aluminum driveshaft from Inland Empire Driveline which they say will fit 67-69 camaro/firebird with a TH400 (pn CF6769-400). The problem is that now i have the trans all mounted and new crossmember in place, the driveshaft is about an inch too long and I can't bolt it to the rear end. A couple of you super cool guys on this forum told me that I would need the origional driveshaft from the powerglide shortenedand the yoke changed, so i figured I would just get a new one. If anyone knows what length the driveshaft is supposed to be I would really appreciate it wheras the one I bought and the one from the powerglide appear to be the same length when held up next to each other althought the yokes are different. I am really frustrated by this mix up and any help would be greatly appreciated.
