A large outing like this could be better suited for the hot rod power tour? Plenty of stops along the way, and if car troubles persist, plenty of help?
Thirdly, my family loves the bird and all, but I'm an not sure they would handle a long 16 hr drive for a weekend getaway. No cruise control, A/C for most, or any comforts of modern cars would make a long trip... and the "are we there yet?" every 2 minutes from the kids.
