Hey Brett, sorry for the slow respond. I have been working six days a week 10hrs a day for about 10 weeks straight now and figuring in my 1.5hr commute my time is scarce lately. I did manage to trade a guy in Bonney Lake my OHC engines for a 1977 Pontiac 400 YU engine. Its only 180hp with 6x #8 heads. The thing I was mainly after was the engine is 100% complete from carb to pan along with alternator and PS pump. I am going to freshen this engine up and try to make it a very mild 400. I bought a brand new delta camshaft that the guy had collected for it too. I don't have the numbers in front of me but it was a mild enough grind for a little bit of overlap for nice choppy idle. I also purchased a performer intake from him that I am going to use too. The 800CFM carburetor it came with will need a spacer plate for the intake since the secondaries won't clear the intake throat to open. I am also in the middle of restoring a 67 Camaro convertible and I am in the final stages of doing full 1/4s, complete trunk floor, innner/outter wheelhouses, and tail panel replacement on it. I want to get my Camaro back to being a driver before I mess with my sons Firebird much more. Its getting messy in the shop having two cars scattered about. My son is only 11 and just now showing interest here and there. I would like to eventually figure out what pistons I could put in this engine to get a 9.5:1 compression ratio with the stock heads. I would like to get as much "performance" as I can from a basically stock pump gas engine without going broke. I am looking for a nice passenger side hood hinge if you know anyone that is selling a spare. I have one but the pivot is all sloppy and causes the hood not to set flush with the fenders and cowl.
