Hello I picked up the paperwork today and there was nothing about it being a prize car etc however the original build sheet says on the bottom "MEMO U1 142 PINK 86899466 SHIP UNCUT QUART OF ABOVE COLOR WITH UNIT". The PHS documents say it was an internally ordered car owned by Pontiac.
868 99466 is the Dupont color code. What's the trim tag say?
We built at least two pink '68 Firebird convertibles at Lordstown for DeLorean to give to Nancy Sinatra when they were dating; pink paint, pink leather, pink tops, pink everything.
She wrecked the first one and we built a second one to replace it.
The pink interior and convertible top WERE a bit much, but that's the way they were built; I recall the Production Control guys saying that the top and interior parts came from some outfit in California, not from the usual Fisher Body trim plants.
