More information is needed. Production # 287 on the cowl tag is not the body number, it is a plant scheduling number. The three to five digit number after the plant ID LOR on the body tag is the actual chassis #. I'd need to know what the car series is (i.e. 67-22437) on the body tag and also need the last 6 digits of the VIN to see if I have any earlier recorded cars of that style. There is not a master document of how many were built, but I've been collecting car info for a few years for this purpose.
There is not a one to one correlation on VIN to body tag sequencing. Chassis numbers repeat by car series.
I have documented cars built 01A, 01B, 01C, 02B that are earlier than your car, both coupes and convertibles. The earliest VIN I have recorded is 100179.
