Not mention there are guys on E-Bay that sell repro parts as originals. They even attach counterfeit AC-Delco parts labels to the boxes. Lots of guys on another site said they've been taken for hundreds of dollars buying what they thought was an NOS piece, only to receive a counterfeit cheap Taiwanese part. What's amazing is that some of these guys keep getting away with it. They change their ID's every few months when the negative feedback starts to pile up, and they always have "private bidders", which prevents people from e-mailing a bidder to tell them the part they just bid $1000 on was a cheap Taiwanese $49 part.
But for every 20 items these guys sell, 19 of the buyers don't know what the original part is supposed to look like, and they don't know the differences between the repro and the NOS version, so they give positive feedback. Whenever negative feedback strangles their credibility, they just change to another ID, and start all over again.
Meanwhile, they raked in $20,000 for about $400 worth of Taiwanese parts.
