My car is long from getting on the road so I can't say how they work. I did not have my original cores. I found a rebuilt pair real cheap and then learned that one was for big cars. They look identical but have about ~3/8" more gap between the halves to compensate for a thicker rotor. So I bought one from Autozone and sent it back because the bleeder was poorly repaired. I wound up getting a second from Advanced Auto (the core charge was only $20) so I could sell my rebuilt big car caliper. Overall I've got about $250 in rebuilt calipers and a lot of headaches:) You'll find that it will cost you more than that to get yours rebuilt. The problem with Autozone is that you may get one that's been ground for wheel clearance or otherwise beat up. I strongly advise getting your originals rebuilt. The cost is high because they put stainless steel sleeves in them. You can get a seal kit from Ames for about $25/side if I remember correctly.
I took the races out of the new rotors because I figured they might be of poor quality. There was no other reason because they would've worked fine.
If you've got all the original brackets and parts, stick with them. I think a conversion will only lead to other problems.
