I never realized until a couple of weeks ago when I replaced my ignition switch bezel/nut on the LeMans that the cylinder is supposed to be removed BEFORE the bezel/nut. I know on the Bird I did not do this and it made the bezel/nut very tough to remove as the face of the cylinder is larger than the opening in the bezel/nut by just a hair. What happens is the bezel/nut tries to thread itself on the shiny tin cylinder face/cover and makes it very difficult to remove and thus ruining the threads on the bezel/nut. Hence the reason I had to replace mine...
