Wow. I didn't realize how many problems poeple have been having with these. My black '68 boot is orignial, and still fits well even though there are a bunch of mold spots on the back side. Even all the clips are original. One or two of them don't grip very well any more though.
I'll have to make sure I take good car of it from now on.
even I , with my low fitting top, have a sligt problem...its hard as H$ll to get all snaps to grip....usually I leave one in a 'corner' open ,as its too hard to stretch and using your finger tips to snap over....one reason I hate to put my top up...re installing the boot afterwards... as a matter of fact we got caught in rain 3 weeks ago, I had to use the top for 20 minutes...now when down ,the boot is not on as I expect to have to put it up when parked over night on our trip to Colorado in 2 weeks! (thats how lazy I am!)....
