I agree 10000%, if it's not the moulded one, toss it now and save yourself the aggravation.

As for the clips, my friend who is the original owner of his 68 GTO w/23k miles has the square clips on his and all of the DOCUMENTED original cars that I have ever seen had the square clips for what it's worth...
