..heh..sorry, but I have to laugh as I write this as its a monthly/yearly event, and every time it happens I laugh my arse off...
I work in an office environment, and in my dept (actually on my floor), its predominantly women. These women are constantly getting on diet kicks, and the conversation is always the same.. this diet is soo great, Im going to lose all this weight, this is the latest trick to losing weight, blah, blah, blah..
They all start their new diets, and then just as sure as the sun rises, in weeks, they start jumping off the diet and going onto another fad.
The best part is that they always end up gaining weight because they all cheat on their diets!! I watch as they munch on donuts, eat kringle, snack on chocolate..then they get together and wonder why their diets dont work. Hello Dear, but ordering a Big Mac, large fries, large McFlurry, and then, getting the diet coke...isnt helping any.
I just want to stand up and shout... Hello fat women, no offense, but... STOP FRCKING EATING SO MUCH!!
I snicker and giggle as they chat in their cubicles about cutting sugar, cutting flour, eliminating caffeine, drinking more water, counting calories, watching the diet numbers on the labels.. but when nobody is around... the rip and tear of a snickers, chips, bacon double cheeseburgers, etc.
Sorry, Im not trying to rip on anyone who struggles to lose weight, but these women are so funny as they talk all strong and proud about how much theyre going to lose, and then turn around and fill the candy dish next to their desk... heh...
About 10 years ago I actually made a bet with them about losing weight. I told them Id pay them a dollor for every pound they lost, but, theyd have to pay me for every pound they gained.., payable each week. Geez, over the course of a month, I made over $10 off every woman in my dept.
I then had a couple of them bet me I couldnt lose weight. I took the bet, and when I started losing weight, they asked how I was doing it.. heres a secret trick used for centuries... eat less and work more. If they would spend half the energy they do planning their diets on working in the office, theyd be thin as a rail...heh...
Anyone else have some coworkers doing the diet game...??
