So I dropped in to my local junk yard today. I haven't been there in 20+ years. Told them I was looking for an old Pontiac kickdown switch. He looked at me crosseyed, and said "if you can find anything left, we have a couple of '68 'birds out in the far pasture". I hiked what seemed to be about 2 miles and saw the first bird. It was a Verdoro green 'vert. It looked like it has been sitting there for 20 years as well. I lifted up the smashed hood, and Wa-la! Score! Correct kick-down switch, bracket, and bolt, still mounted to the carb. $15 and I ran like a bandit. I was able to grab two sets of tailight screws, a gas tank door, and some other misc. parts for another $5. Not much left of the car other than a couple of Ivy green deluxe seatblets and clips... So they are still out there, you just need to look. I'll have to start visiting the old junk yards more often.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
