We "cook" them at 400 for about 1/2 hour. The machine has an "open" flame, so a static oven WOULD take longer. We also have an "airless shot blaster" for removing the dried ash. Highly recommend against doing this "at home". Our system (EPA approved) has a built-in afterburner that eliminates the smoke from the burning oil product. Banshee's right. NASTY stuff.
There are no "internal passages" in a 6X head, except the water jacket.
