Spoke with Permatex today and here's what they said.
1. Ultra Grey will not stick to an oil infused cork gasket. 2. Ultra Grey will fill a .25in void, and in fact can be built up to a great extent by building on top of itself. 3. Application method recommended...lay a bead of RTV down, gently set the pan on and bolt down finger tight (point to which the RTV begins to squeeze out slightly). After 1 hour cure time tighten 1/4 to 1/2 turns and you're done. After the 1 hour cure time Ultra Grey has filmed over enought that it will not squeez out, thus keeping it from getting into the motor.
Thanks
I used Permatex 30 yrs ago on my pan. I applied it just like the manufacture recommended and it held and provided a great seal all those years and it made pulling off the cork gasket a cake walk!
