I thought that might be a possibility but the straight portion is just a hair too small to fit the upper oil dipstick. Maybe I need to coax it a bit to fit. I tried but it did not want to fit in there.

Also, the slight bend of the tube, does this face forward our outward from the block? What clock position if I were looking at it from the top of the engine...bend at 7:00 o'clock or so?
