A lot of times when a car is painted it is possible the paint could be thick and fill in the numbers. pull the top of the cowl off and get a wire brush or wheel. Also it is possible the whole firewall has been replaced. never the less the only thing PHS really needs is the VIN number and they can get you the info. Unless you are me. I ended up buying a different car and PHS has no record of it!
