I have never had much luck with the 2bbl, and even less experiance with finding the reason for failures, specifically a built-in hesitation; even so, most carbs share similar functions. If I were going to start fishing on this carb of which I know nothing about, the first thing I would do would be drop the float a tad, lower the amount of fuel in the bowl. Then again, you may be able to find someone that 'knows' something about troubleshooting cars, and they can offer you a more logical place to start.
