There is a direct corrolation between your ignition switch wires and your starter, though this seems incorrect. You need to go to basics and follow each wire, starting at the ignition switch and working towards the starter and the HEI wires or distributor. In reality, there is very little that could cause this, did you recently add something that needed power at the box or did you splice something new into the standard wires? Inside the engine compartment or under the dash? Be honest......
