I did it in my 67, I found a 67 bird that was scrap, and it had the correct floor shifter, console and steering column. I also changed my trans from a 2spd powerglide to a turbo 350, and had to rebuild the shifter for a 3spd, wasn't a quick change out, but it can be done in 2 days. I didn't think it was hard at all, just a little bit of work, depends how much you love your bird, I wanted it to look like a stock setup, so I went all out when I did mine.I love it!!!
I also kept the old parts.
