My 68 Firebird 400 convertible has 205 60 14 RWL tires, and I'm looking to replace them with something taller (the car has 3.55s and an auto, so it's not very highway friendly). Because the JC Rally 2s on the car now are correct and in great shape, I'm going to stick with a 14 inch tire. So I'm wondering if 225 70 14 will work without rubbing. Am hoping folks here will share their experiences/thoughts about running this size tire on a 68 with stock suspension. I searched the forum and the FAQs but did not find a straight answer. This kind of surprised me because I suspect the same issue has been considered by many who post here.
