Note that they are not cockroaches there. They are palmetto bugs.
The palmetto bug is the official state bird there.
(You have be familiar with the size of those suckers to appreciate that one).
The question is, is it better to shoot them with a bug spray or a 22 hollow point?
We've gotten down to Florida once or twice a year for a few decades now to visit my wife's parents on the West Coast. The last time was between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
At this time of year it's not a hard sell to get us Cannuks to waldle down to Florida to cuddle with the wildlife. We are about half way thru hibernation...lol
