No grommets. If it doesn't close with "authority", and is somewhat wimpy then it's likely the gas door spring. You can try to bend it, as some have with success... or use magnets. But a new spring at about $25.. yes I said $25(!) will likely do the trick. Mine snaps shut quite nicely now.
