I'm pretty sure a 68 Firebid coupe is comming my way in the next little while. It was originally a 350 HO car but it only a shell right now. I have the option of getting a 1970, 400 engine. If I do that, I still need a transmission (manual). I am pretty much convinced a 5 speed is they way to go. Anybody have any suggestions as to what I should be looking for? Can I head to the junk yard and find some 5 speed and take is or should I be looking elsewhere? It should be able to take 400 HP. What special considerations should be taken into account?
