Hey myrod.com is where my 68 400 vert. started! You're right about his cars being top notch and getting top dollar (I'm now bias!). However, I can personally tell you - what he sold my car for isn't even close to what I paid for it a couple years later ...and the car literally hadn't been driven more than 50 miles between myrod.com and me buying it. The difference being timing and marketing ...the bird is still perfect(to me). I'm not sure market values are back to where they were ...say in 2005.
I'm truly not trying to drive the market down ...I'm all for folks paying top dollar and driving up the market for all of us owners, but the nice thing about this site is we're honest in our post based on what we see from all of our diverse backgrounds/regions etc. A 67 vert., 326, auto ...typically isn't seeing over $25k at this point in time ...unless there's something exceptional or rare about it that connects with 1 buyer. That 1 buyer may be willing to extend themselves for nostalgia etc., but it may be awhile before they're able to recoup their investment cost ...if they decide to sell. I think we all watch Ebay pretty close, and over the last 4 months or so sellers are asking some pretty high prices, which again is positive for all of us that own a FGF, but these cars don't appear to be selling. There recently was a nice example of a 68 400, 4 spd. vert., in a desirable color that ended up getting $42k, and it turned about to be a questionable deal based on the buyers feedback ..and that was top dollar for a fairly rare bird given the current market conditions. Again, this is all just my opinion based on watching the market ...I'm no expert ..that's a fact!
