Modifying the pedestals really wasn't that hard. I positioned the spoiler where I wanted it and marked the holes. Drilled the holes and set the spoiler in place.....you HAVE to raise the rear of the spoiler to have the right contour to the body and make any downforce at all and you have to shorten the height of the pedestal in the front to ensure you get enough stud length on the inside of the trunk lid. I simply flipped the spoiler upside down and using a drmeml and cutoff wheel I trimmed the fiberglass pedestal back to where the sides are flush with the stud supports are. (also even with the shoulders spoiler studs)
I re-installed the spoiler and made "U" shaped spacers out of some scrap aluminum bar stock I had. I raised the rear of the spoiler to where I wanted it and installed the spacers.....then installed the nuts on the studs on the underside of the trunk lid and tightened it up.
Once I had it where I wanted it and at a more appealing angle I masked off the trunk lid about 3 inches on either side of the pedestals....basically covering the trunk lid under the pedestal and either side to keep excess fiberglass off the primer. I then mixed up some duraglass and filled the gap between the pedestal and trunk lid. Don't worry if you can't fill the seam all the way from front to back....
Once it cured I removed the spoiler from the trunk lid and flipped it upside down. I taped off the studs and filled the bottom side of the pedestals with more duraglass making a solid base. Once this cured I sanded it to match the contour of the trunk lid.
I have several pics showing how well the spoiler fits the car, but don't have a place to host them. If someone can post them that'd be great!
