Not sure if the conv brace has anything to do with fit but SFCs are a great upgrade. I would think even more so on a vert. Mine were Comp Engineering, IIRC. I do a lot of work to mine so I am glad I have the bolt-in version. I've had to remove them a couple of time for one reason or another and if they had been welded in...well it would've involved alot more cussing and throw things. Just my $.02.
