+1 for cutting a coil. It also raises the spring rate making for a slightly stiffer ride.

The springs listed for my 6cy bird put it almost to the top of the suspension's travel... way too high for me.
I cut off two coils for a very low and stiff ride.
When I got tired of that I got some springs listed for a 4dr 6cy (69-74) Nova and now it sits where I think it ought.
