I removed the power steering box on my 1969 TA to rebuild. Like so many things on this car, the numbers dont seem to match what the "books" say they should. I am 99.99% sure everything is OE, as this car apparently trashed the 4 speed at 55,000 miles and everything appears oe.
However, the pitman arm is #7806616 and is curved. The book calls for #7806617 for a power steering pitman arm. I cant even find a GM pitman arm made with my number on it. The steering box was built the 197 day of 1969. The box has part number 5691676 cast into the side of it. Again the book sais the steering box number should be 7807056. Does anyone know if my numbers look correct. I know the TA's had different boxes and such, but i cant find any referances that match mine? Any TA owners out there that had already built thiers and are familiar?
