The big night came and I fired up my freshly rebuilt 455. Now for the record I had it bored 30 over. I am running 6X 4 heads 3 angle valve job done not shaved. I am running stock rocker and timing chain. My cam has duration of at 050 inch Lift: 224 int./234 exh. I have a HEI Distributor and Qjet carb for a 1974 455 with a Edelbrock performer manifold. The oil pump is a Sealed power high-pressure oil pump. Now the questions I was only running for 5 min. I was breaking in the cam
1. My oil pressure is 60 PSI is that to high 2. I was already over heating so I checked the exhaust on the passenger side. I had less back pressure compared to the driver side. Now the exhaust manifolds are stock 1968 400 with the butterfly valve. I checked the valve before installing and it worked great. I check it with the motor running hot and it was open, The passenger side of engine heads was really getting hot that is why I shut it down.
I did not have a chance to time it or even start to line it out I was just going to run at 1500 rpm for 30 minutes. Any ideas
