Don't know what is considered as the exact date but: - Fifty years ago last December (about 12/13/66) the first production began at Lordstown. - Fifty years ago last month (1/3/67) Pontiac informed dealers that they should start pre-selling the Firebird. - Fifty years ago yesterday (2/16/67), the first '67 was invoiced by the factory. - Fifty years ago next Thursday (2/23/67) the scheduled release of the '67 was at the Chicago Auto Show.
