It's a 485428 block, forged rods & pistons (I assume they're the 5140 rods, with SP L2359NF pistons, but I have not opened it up to check)
The guy I bought the car from said it had a Lunati cam, but didn't know any specs.
It has #215 heads, with M/T valve covers. I've never had the covers off. So I don't know if it has screw-in studs or not, or roller tip rockers or not.
It has a deep sump pan.
No intake, carb, or dist. I put those on the other 455.
The engine was in a '74 Ventura bracket car I bought. I ran it in 2008. It ran 7.30's on our local 1/8 mile track. 60' times 1.60's. Bought another car, a 2-car trailer and a Ford 7.3D CC truck. Took me all the '09 season to get all that together. Was ready to race 2 cars for the 2010 season. Our local track never opened that year.
So, I sold the truck, trailer, and the other car. Kept the Ventura. Cranked it occasionally, thru most of 2011. Sold the roller. Kept the engine/trans/converter. So, the engine hasn't been cranked since 2011. It's not locked up. And I recently poured some MMO & fogging oil into the cylinders.
For serious buyers, I can open it up & take pics. I'm considering building some sort of test stand on which I can run both engines. And, I have a mid '80's wagon I'd like to put one of these in. But, they're both for sale. Also have some 6X heads and a new Chinese single plane intake, which will work for a street or street/strip app. I don't know if the cam is too much for the street or not. It idled better than the CC 292 Magnum that's in the other engine.
