Hey guys! Hi Bret! YEs it is me! Been busy working on the boat trying to find time for the firebird. The guy from craigs still has that buck 350 tranny. I guess I may just go for it. Hopefully it would be good to go with a front seal and pan. Sounds like a pretty direct swap. Brett I think my engine might be a 455 The engine code starts with YE. I have looked online & it appears to be a 455. I think 71 they started with the 455 and YE code. When I had the water pump off. There was no vin on the front block & I saw some marker writing on the front pulley like they do in wrecking yard. Could not make it out. But I have determined that the belated previous owner replaced the motor. Hopefully I will confirm what it is sooN!. I rebuilt the carb. Runs much better. NOw I need to get this tranny issue resolved so I can at least drive it while I am fixing it up to my liking. Thanks for the feedback!
