I saw a Conair portable Turbo Steamer today at Costco. It's just a little handheld thing. I'm thinking about getting one to help with carpet and seat cover install. Only cost $39 and looked pretty cool. Plus the wife can use it on wrinkly cloths.
If you do get it and use it on the carpet and seat, please post back on how it really works and the results it gave you.
